I want my Minecraft server to accept Bitcoins as payment for donations.

Is there like a dump box or something I can put on my website? Something that says "send to this address, and leave a message with what you are buying"? Any suggestions? Here's the website if you'd like to check it out. Sorry if this seems like advertisement, I don't mean for it to be. I just want to get my users asking about bitcoins :)

Looking to see if anyone can help

At this point we are out of ideas, so I decided to come to the smartest bunch of people the world has to offer... Redditors.
The problem is that I recently just became aware and realized that one of the Minecraft servers that I was obsessed with back in about 6th grade (around 2010 I believe) used Bitcoin as a way to make purchases on the server. This was my favorite server, so for my birthday, my mom gave me $200 dollars to spend however I wanted, and I spent it all on bitcoin so I could get armor, costumes, and stuff like that in the game. A few weeks went by, and just like every other 6th grader on the planet, my interests and hobbies would change quite rapidly, and I stopped playing Minecraft. I believe that I spent about $50 worth of bitcoin and the rest is sitting in a virtual wallet waiting for me to access it.
Now me and my brother have researched everything we could about this in the last few weeks, but as of now, we are not pros and simply know the basics of what we can possibly do. I know I need a 6 digit code to access my wallet, and I specifically remember having the number written on a paper stuck in my room, but I have no clue what that number is and have moved several times since then so there is zero chance of finding that paper.
There is a lot of money on the line and if any of you guys have information that could help me get access to my digital wallet I will probably tattoo your reddit name on my body I’d be so happy.
Any help you guys could give me I would love but I understand that things like this are highly complex. I appreciate any suggestions or anyone that takes time to help me out.

PSA: Mojang made an unannounced change to the Commercial Usage Guidelines / EULA

Note: while I am a lawyer, I am not your lawyer, and none of this is legal advice that you may rely on. Please consult competent counsel in your jurisdiction before making any decisions that affect your rights, as whether or not any particular server's for-sale offerings comply with the EULA is a fact-specific inquiry and your results may vary. Additionally, Mojang may update the Guidelines or issue a statement contradicting this information at any time, and you should regularly review the Guidelines for any updates or changes that may affect your rights.

On April 11, Mojang published a new help site article stating that:
Hard currency is real money or anything that can be converted into real money, including, but not limited to, Bitcoins. Soft currency is available in-game only and has no real-world value. You may not sell soft currency for hard currency, neither separately or along with ranks as a single or recurring payout. This is regardless of what you can use the soft currency for.
That article, despite being linked to elsewhere on live help site pages, now results in a 404.
Until May 20th, the Commercial Usage Guidelines read as follows:
YOU MAY:
...
use in-game currencies IF (i) they are “soft currencies,” i.e., a currency earned and expended only through gameplay that has no real world value and that cannot be cashed out, used, or transferred across free or paid servers, or into any other currency with real-world value; (ii) you don’t give the impression that it comes from or is associated with Mojang, and (iii) they don’t look like or have similar names to Minecoins or any other official virtual currency.
As of May 20th, the Commercial Usage Guidelines now read:
use and sell in-game virtual currencies IF (i) they have no real-world value and that cannot be cashed out, used, or transferred across free or paid servers, or into any other currency with real-world value; (ii) you don't give the impression that it comes from or is associated with Mojang, (iii) they don't look like or have similar names to Minecoins or any other official virtual currency, and (iv) anything you sell with the currency follows our monetization guidelines.
This is a major unannounced change and I was unable to find any other posts on this subreddit (or anywhere) explaining or noting it.
This change allows the sale of soft currency (coins, gold, etc) so long as the use of that currency is compliant with the rest of the EULA/Guidelines. For example, it appears that the Guidelines now allow the sale of cosmetic-only currency. In addition, in combination with the new "provided they do not give a competitive gameplay advantage" exception, the sale of soft currency that affects gameplay is allowed (again, subject to that exception and the rest of the EULA).
I don't work for Mojang and I can't predict whether this change will be reverted or accompanied by additional changes, and I didn't review the other terms to see if anything else had changed. I just wanted to write this post as a PSA.
I've previously authored an extended write-up of EULA compliance on my Substack and am writing a "version 2.0" that includes both a history of the recent changes and explanations that incorporate them.
Thank you to Mergu from the Denizen Discord server for (inadvertently) making me aware of this change.

(serious question) Is the entire Bitcoin Blockchain a collection of preloaded chunks of a Minecraft type world generator? (yet?)

I realize now, having used all of the softwares involved, that a single Bitcoin being created is a stack of individually identifiable Satoshis that fit together mathematically in blocks to form the full coin when mined, and each coin can be mined on any computer capable of running the same software, in a similar way that Minecraft seeds each contain an entire world of individually identifiable blocks that can be generated by any computer running the same software, and the chunks of the world are generated as you witness their connection to the previous chunks. All chunks of a seed are absolute, when using a seed, the seemingly infinite world will always generate exactly the same on all computers, although not always in the same order depending on which direction you travel when generating the chunks of your world as you move around and witness them, exactly how Bitcoins are found "randomly" by connecting them together in a way that Bitcoin can witness as a collective agreement about every historical state of reality in a way that fits together, called the Blockchain.
If you haven't played Minecraft, the important thing to know is that I can give you my seed, which is unique out of (something like) 18 Billion seeds, and your computer can generate the exact same world as mine with just a few numbers. If everyone mining Bitcoin is generating chunks of the same Minecraft seed, we already have a very large world ready to be explored. Minecraft already has a world based on your private key in the same way Bitcoin already has all of the private keys, we just need the correct software to view them.
Before you link it, I have seen Decentraland, It is similar to what I'm suggesting and looking for. Someone is already working on this i'm sure, i'm just looking for the 12-dimensional painter of this art, so to speak.
So...
Each Bitcoin is theoretically 100,000,000 blocks of a Minecraft based reality generation software. Each coin is a chunk of the full map, the seed that builds this world is the chain itself. There are 21 Million Chunks, each one contains 100 million blocks, each block is a grain of sand that, currently, is not being picked up and moved, but having it's access permission transferred.
The Blockchain is the full map, the wallet is your interaction permission list and history, operating like the fog of unknowing you have removed from your map by exploring.
A wallet's private key is permission to load a private set of loaded chunks from the server, not just a collection of the grains of sand, but full access to where they spawned and how the permissions have traveled. It's not a private location where you keep an inventory of Satoshis, a Wallet is just a list of blocks you have permission to break and move inside this limited, single Minecraft type world seed. The Chain is where the locations are documented, the wallet is where the permissions are documented, and multi sig wallets are how you invite a friend into your world.
Bitcoin generates specific numbers that exist forever uniquely, and Minecraft generates virtual reality landscapes uniquely from specific numbers. The Matrix is Teaching us to give birth to it. This is happening. It's a land rush, not a Gold rush.

I just need to know where... Anybody seen this yet?

Advice on OS/Service organization

I'm kind of new to this. Im about to re organize my servers and all of my services so its not a jumbled mass of garbage in one vlan since when i started. Below i will list my hardware and what i plan to run. I've got a question though, for example, how many services should i run per vm? As many as possible that fit and are compatible with that os? Also, should i even bother setting up my pihole now that i have a USG-pro-4? Also, if anyone has tips for setting up a vpn tunnel that would be great...

I'm not sure what my instability issues are, motherboard, or nvme drive, or cpu maybe? Hard-lockups, blue screens, exacerbated by drive writing.

System Specs: 32gb DDR4 3200mhz AMD Ryzen 5 3600 ADATA 1tb NVME drive. 750 watt EVGA Bronze PSU NVidia 970 GTX (which also crashes, but that's not the issue here - it was an old bitcoin GPU a friend sold me on the cheap, was the only thing I could afford) MSI Gaming Plus x570 Motherboard Stock cooling (air) Windows 10 2019 LTSC
I've actually already replaced the ADATA NVME drive once -- a couple of months back it just up and died completely. Upon replacing it, things were stable for a while (a while being...about a month and a half), but I'm getting random lockups now, and issues that seem to point to the ADATA NVME drive, or...maybe the motherboard? I've already RMAd the NVME drive once...I'm afraid I'm SOL on doing it a second time. It's not a Gen4 drive, according to CrystalDiskInfo, it's running at PCI-E 3.0x4 lanes. S.M.A.R.T. isn't reporting anything erroneous. CrystalDiskMark reports about 2k MB/s sequential reads @ 1MiB (top test), and ~800MB/s write when I benchmark it.
Really the problem reared its ugly head as I was doing an update to a game yesterday evening. It was a 3gb update, followed with an "optimization" which basically reads and then rewrites the game files sequentially on the disk. This is basically 30gb worth of rewriting, and it really brought out the machine locking up while it was doing its thing.
As I watched on my task manager, the drive went from 20MB/s writes, down to 8MB/s, down to 1MB/s, up until the machine essentially stopped responding. The NVME drive was warm, but I bought a really beefy heatsink for this thing after the first one died; taking insane care putting it together and making sure this one was pampered.
Randomly I'll come home these past few weeks with Windows 10 on a screen saying it couldn't repair the boot device, or that a boot device wasn't found, and I've even gotten a "NON_PAGED_POOL" error once which made me think I had a RAM issue.
I've thrown memtest on a USB stick and ran it over night with nothing to show for it. So at the very least I'm pretty sure my RAM is fine.
After last night, lockup after lockup, I moved the NVME drive down from the top slot above the GPU (it...gets a little toasty there, but not uncomfortably so.) down to the slot below it.
So far, in 24hrs, I haven't gotten any random crash - but that may just be luck. I've had strings of a day or two where nothing happened. My problem is - I don't know what I should be distrustful of at this point. The NVME drive that died was in the top slot of this motherboard. I seem to maybe, have possibly resolved it by putting it in the bottom slot...should I RMA the motherboard? The drive? I've heard something about the top NVME slot being connected directly to the CPU and the bottom one having to go through a PCI-E controller instead or something? -- I don't know details on that exactly, but could the CPU be the issue with the top nvme slot?
So now I'm kinda freaking out, wondering if I've gotta rebuild this stupid thing with an RMA'd mobo, or if the motherboard is even the culprit at all anyhow. Fans are all max, running them balls-out because I thought it could be a heat issue at some point.
At this point, I'm kind of at a loss and I'm becoming really disappointed in this new machine I built for myself - it's unstable, it's also the local minecraft server for my kids, and it keeps causing me issues.
Edit: Has the latest bios. I updated that when it came out. No overclocking going on with the board at all; I bought the x570 for future expansion in mind... also sorry about my writing - I have gray-matter memory issues and sometimes I'll repeat myself or make a sentence read weird. Ask for any clarification and you'll get it.

What is svchost?

Lately my CPU usage has been through the roof. I can't use Discord when I play games because Discord lags so hard VC doesn't work, my browser is barely functioning if I like run Minecraft, I think I have a bitcoin miner and I looked at task manager and saw svchost taking up like 25 CPU. Its in system32 so I didn't know if it was a legit file for my computer and happened to take up CPU or it was a bitcoin miner. Its also marked as LOCAL SERVER. I'm scared to delete it because I'm afraid it'll brick my computer. Plus theres this other process that is a system type with no file location called System Idle Process that takes up like 70 CPU, I ran malwarebytes but it didn't change either of these processes, what should I do?

Default English word list

Alright so, I took the default database from there https://skribbliohints.github.io/ and with the help of html, I extracted the words to a list separated by commas. It's useful when you want to translate those words into your native language.
Word of advice, when using google translate, do not put all words at once there, it can rapidly worsen the translation.
(And there is a last thing. Their algorithm of picking only custom words is not working really good, at least for me. Meaning that I often get duplicates, despite having a list this big and without duplicates. I'm still trying to find some solution to this, so if somebody is experiencing this as well, share the knowledge please, I will do the same.)
SOLUTION: Thanks for the reply from PepegaWR who identified the cause. I also tested it and there seems to be a custom words limit of 5000 characters. The easiest way in my opinion is to shuffle the words before each session to minimize the impact. Also thanks to the flynger who had the same idea before me :)
Finally, here it is, enjoy the scribbling ^^ :

A VPS to host a Minecraft server that accept cryptocurrency?

Hi,
I'm looking for VPSs to host a Minecraft server that accept cryptocurrency. Doesn't have to be Monero, Bitcoin it just fine. The things that I'm looking for is decent up-time and somewhat affordable. It's a Minecraft server for me and my classmates, nothing crucial obviously, but it's nice to have decent up time.
I've looked over the merchants section on the Monero website and subreddit wiki. But it has no indication whatsoever as to whether the said VPS meets the aforementioned criteria. Plus it doesn't include all the VPS that only accept Bitcoin and not Monero...
What are your recommendations?

The Economics of Hermitcraft

I’m late to the game. I only started playing Minecraft a few months ago and watching Hermit Craft a few weeks ago.
Being a math nerd, I am fascinated by the economy that has sprung up on the sever complete with competition, monopolies, and gambling.
The way new “money” is added to the server is remarkably similar to Bitcoin, in that new currency is literally mined at a relatively pre determined rate.
When season seven starts, I intend to gather economic data on all the hermits individual net worth and the resources of various teams and companies. I have even thought about what prizes Iskall should put in his various games to optimize profits.
If this data is something you guys would be interested in seeing, let me know and I’ll regularly post my work here come season 7.

[REQUEST] Minecraft Java edition

This is my 2nd try, i really want to play it with mods and maps so badly
Hello reddit, im a very avid minecraft fan who has liked the game since a long time and i played it on phone and ps4, the thing is that i always wanted to try the real deal, which is the java edition for pc, why? Becuase it has access to mods, skins and the fact that you can join to all the servers without restrictions, thats why i want it so badly
To start lets describe what is minecraft about
Minecraft is a gamr about building and exploring and figthing monsters in an (almost) infite world. Minecraft has 3 gamemodes Survival, where you gather stuff to survive, earn ores and build your epic base, this gets better with mods, which can change the game with big changes
Then there is creative which you can make anything than you want from epic builds and giant redstone contraptions, i really want to play this mode on pc becuase i could share cozy builds
And finally, adventure mode, which you can play it on an user made map where you can fight each others or find the exit, theres so much to do!!!
The problem is that minecraft even as a 10 years old game is still TOO expensive and at this moment i cant buy anything because i need to spend my money on more important things, so thats why i decided to create this thread to see if there is a kind person who could give me minecraft java edition as a gift, i really would appreciate because i think is the best game ever made and i want to play it how it was meant to be, with mods and friends, i always wanted it to play it for free but i dont trust those launchers because they could have bitcoin miners and keyloggers, so i prefered to be safe and make a request in this cool place
Thats it, ill just wait and hope :)

[REQUEST] Minecraft java edition

Got scammed out of 70K... is there anything I can do?

BREAKING -- the scam websites (x7) are now offline thanks to the work/complaints from this post TLDR: Don't trust new wallets unless you're 100% sure or you will lose everything
First off, Yes - I feel sheepish, yes had I spent more time researching it wouldnt of happened, Yes I realize that I am a moron for letting $70K USD slip out of my hands, so please dont remind me of that, I learned that lesson. The website was legit looking, I trusted it wouldnt come from googles top searches pointing to Reddit which then pointed to a scam from this user > https://www.reddit.com/usejhkansen1
Secondly, I lost my BTC after importing a private key (after I had sent my funds to a new wallet) into a wallet downloaded from electrumbtcp, com (DO NOT GO HERE.) I then transferred my funds BACK into Exodus but mistakenly didn't create a NEW address by clicking the ARROW on the right. This mistake cost me $70K USD.
I got into cryptocurrency a few years ago, but not in a heavy sense, just as a merchant accepting BTC. I ran a large minecraft server and a small portion of our user base shopped in BTC back when it was $200-300. While this didn't give me anywhere near the $70K that I lost, it got me started. I then invested what I could into ETH early on and hodl'd it as long as possible. I wouldn't consider myself a "newbie" at trading, investing or mining for awhile. I've done several forked coins and I didn't, in my wildest dreams, think that it'd be a malicious wallet. I've been trained to "Send coins, get the private key - send funds back to newly created address" - I thought thats what I was doing.
I know my funds are probably gone forever, I want to know how I can warn others, how I can report this to (whatever? country authorities) as a malicious website. I'm not looking for attention as much as I'm looking for possible help with bringing down this website.

For ref heres the wallet that stole my funds: https://live.blockcypher.com/btc/address/1EgaeuKXBs1kJGx68JtqhxeDGLsAxkDfbx/
Can I get a upvote for awareness?
If you lost BTC and have the (https://www.electrumbtcp.com/download/Electrum-Private-windows-x32-1.0.2.exe) please post it on mediafire and send it to me for evidence/analyzing
